Sala Prabang is made up of 4 individual 2 storey buildings created around the 1880s residence of a noble family. This stone building, the home of His Excellency Khammao, the first prime minister of Laos, has been superbly renovated. [read more] New architectural interior details and decor showcase the skills of Luang Prabang craftspeople: exposed stone walls and wooden beams, refurbished original patterned ceramic floor tiles and fine fabrics, all offset by the subtle wall colouring created by the original use of silk dyes. Each building has its own stylish character, with all rooms furnished to a high level of comfort. Modern tiled ensuite bathrooms complement the original building fabrics.

The Villa is the core 1880s Sala Prabang 2 storey building, housing the Reception and Lobby. A courtyard leads to the 2 storey Cottage, part of the original residence. Next to the Villa is the 2 storey Ban Lao, constructed in traditional Lao style during the 2000/1renovations. Lattana building is a colonial era house a few doors along the road from Sala Prabang Villa.

 

Standard Room:

Standard rooms on the ground or first floor of the Villa and the Cottage look onto the secluded inner courtyard. Exposed stone walls in the rooms contrast with the crisp lines of the furniture and furnishings. [read more] The muted internal hues were created with a unique paint mix using natural silk dyes.

Garden View rooms on the ground and first floor of Lattana building are light and airy, with the high ceilings of this elegant colonial era house.
